In an exclusive interview with Exec magazine, Silicon Valley entrepreneur Brett Bullington has said that California is still the place to be for start up companies.
Bullington, who has sat on the boards of businesses sold to Ritz Camera, Yahoo! and Google, explained to Exec’s John O’Hanlon that “it takes a certain leap of faith from investors to start a company, and I think this is one of a small number of places where that can occur.”
Still on top
Silicon Valley has come under pressure from Europe of late as it seeks to usurp the region from its role as king of the technology sector. But Bullington thinks differently:
“There are very few places on earth,” he says, “where someone will give you $5 million to develop a company and a product when you’re not sure what the customers’ habits will be and you’re definitely not sure how you are going to make money out of it.”
“Silicon Valley is a place anybody can come to, from anywhere in the world, and have an impact.”
