Caribbean Getaways
By Martin Slofstra
Executives looking for a getaway package in the Caribbean have lots to choose from, and so, Exec Digital asked an experienced travel consultant, Ellen Vander Kooy from Vision 2000 in Toronto, Canada to help us narrow the choices. The idea: Combine rest with good wholesome activity, with an opportunity to throw in a bit of adventure. All resorts have access from airports located in US, Canada or UK. Expect to pay from $10,000 to $20,000 including travel, but you can greatly decrease your costs as many resorts are offering kids-stay-free packages. Here are her selections, ranging from the serene to the extreme.
A nice view
with lots to do
With breathtaking views overlooking the cobalt waters of the Caribbean Sea, this vacation spot’s selling point is its location. Visitors can choose from an eclectic range of activities: a rainforest excursion, setting sail down the scenic St. Lucia west coast on a catamaran, or observing the quaint fishing village of Anse-la-Raye.
A wide range of accommodations are available, from spacious two-bedroom suites (includes private Jacuzzi and close to the resort’s many amenities) to two-three bedroom villas (with plunge pools and an ocean view.) All villas and suites come with a fully equipped kitchen, but as an added bonus, visitors can arrange for a private chef to create a special evening for you and your family in the comfort of your villa.

inner ‘Bon vivant’
This luxury villa resort and spa is located in a truly breathtaking location in one of St.Lucia’s most desirable areas. Set atop a private ocean-front bluff with magical sunset views over the clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, it combines elegance, charm with five star personal service.
Three acres of tropical landscaped gardens, with its sandy secluded beach below, Cap Maison offers a private retreat in spacious suites, many with private roof terraces and pools, making it a quieter destination for families. The St Lucia Golf & Country Club is minutes away, tennis is nearby, and the restaurants and bars of Rodney Bay are a short drive.
For maximum enjoyment, book an ocean view room with king size bed. A private jacuzzi sits on the veranda, where the sounds of the sea gently rolling in make for the perfect end to your day.

Rising magically from the turquoise lagoons and the blue waters of the Atlantic, Kerzner International’s spectacular Atlantis Paradise is becoming known as a resort destination that has truly redefined the entertainment experience.
The unique ocean-themed destination offers a variety of guest accommodations, with more than 35 restaurants, a casino and a marina capable of handling yachts of any size. But the focal point is the mind-boggling 20 million gallons of fresh and salt water pools, featuring water adventures, cascading waterfalls, water slides, and a marine habitat. The beach is said to be among the most beautiful in the world.
The accommodation options range from entry-level to one of the incredible Royal Deluxe Rooms.

Have a taste of everything
The beaches of Punta Cana, located in the southeast of the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, are considered among the most beautiful in the world, offering the ideal relaxing experience for family vacations. Child care is available for every age group, from Baby Club Med to clubs for teens, just in case adults want to try out kayaking, snorkeling, tennis, sailing, windsurfing and several other activities.
Also, an opportunity is there to heat it up at night, gourmet dining and quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are part of the inclusive packages; and each week has a different theme, including a French-style Food and Wine Festival and a Latin American-influenced Zumba Fitness and Music Festival.
