John Deere to join with Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland Ltd, an India-based commercial vehicles maker, has said it has entered into a joint venture with John Deere for manufacturing and marketing of construction equipment in the country.
John Deere is the world's largest agriculture and forestry equipment manufacturer.
No financial details were provided.
The 50:50 joint venture would start production by early 2010 and will initially roll out Backhoes and Four- wheel-drive Loaders with the range exapnding to include a full line of construction equipment, the Hinduja Group company said.
The joint venture will build a manufacturing facility in India and is currently evaluating site locations, it added.
