Louisville awards arena contract

The Louisville Arena Authority has awarded Patriot one of the final major contracts for the US$238 million arena’s construction.

Patriot Engineering and Environmental Inc has won with the contract to inspect and test materials on the Kentucky arena, for a reported US$650,000 deal.

The company will inspect materials such as soil and concrete, making sure they meet certification standards. It was awarded after submitting the “lowest and best” bid, according to Jim Host, Authority Chairman.

The Indianapolis-based company will inspect the concrete foundation footings and do field reports daily. Patriot will report to General Contractor Mortenson Construction, as well as the Arena Program Manager PC Sports.
