Microsoft corporate vice president and chief information officer Stuart Scott has been fired after being investigated for violating company policies.
Uncertainty
It is still unclear exactly why Mr. Scott was fired, but a spokesperson for Microsoft confirmed his departure. “We can confirm that Stuart Scott’s employment with Microsoft has been terminated after an investigation for violation of company policies,” the spokesperson announced.
The move by Microsoft will no doubt spur on a huge amount of conjecture on Mr. Scott’s actions, especially due to the speed of the events. The announcement was made yesterday, sating that Mr. Scott had be fired on Friday.
Stand-ins
Mr. Scott came to Microsoft in 2005, after 17 years working for General Electric. He was Microsoft’s third chief information officer in four years. Shahla Aly, Microsoft’s general manager, and Alain Crozier, a corporate vice-president, will assume Mr. Scott’s duties until a replacement was found.
