Pepsi Bottling Q2 revenue up 5%

The Pepsi Bottling Group Inc has reported revenue of US$3.5billion due to international growth.

The firm saw net revenue per case increase eight percent, led primarily by growth in Europe and Mexico.

Strong results offset a decline in operating income in the US and Canada.

Operating income tripled in Europe while it increased 32 percent in Mexico.

President and CEO Eric Foss said the results come as the group repositions its geographic portfolio.

PBG will look to improve profitability in the US and Canada in 2008.

It will also seek to build on its business in Mexico and maximize potential growth in European markets.
