Have your say on the FTA issue
Source:Editor's Blog
Foreign trade seems to be coming to the forefront of our thinking at the moment as the presidential candidates practise quick footwork on their position (and revisit their record) on NAFTA. As ever the politics of energy hides the underlying issues that affect free trade in the Americas: next month I’m looking forward to laying before you the views of a true pragmatist on that issue, and incidentally a true champion of American manufacturing.
However this week (somewhat eclipsed by the Pope) it fell to British premier Gordon Brown to talk up international trade, declaring at the White House that he stands 'shoulder to shoulder' with Mr. Bush in a transatlantic bond that is 'stronger than ever.' Fact is that the western powers are all licking similar wounds, while sub-prime mortgages are the last thing the Indians and Chinese worry about.
We want to know how free trade agreements are affecting your business, so please feel free to leave comment below. Did you know too, that you can comment on any topic that’s covered on the website? If you haven’t read my last interview with the doyen of Silicon Valley VCs Allen Morgan, now’s your chance – and having read it, tell us what you think.
Finally, we are going to launch very shortly the Exec Elevator, a space in the magazine and website for start-ups and growing businesses. Starting with a 200 word summary of the new business’s vision, team and strategy Exec Elevator will be a peer/professional (P2P2?) network linking entrepreneurs, investors and advisors – on a national and global platform, we feel that this will fill a real need.
