Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Based on the implementation by Accenture, ThyssenKrupp Steel selected Sybase RFID Anywhere technology for slab identification, and became the first steel producer in the world to use RFID technology. ThyssenKrupp Steel recently completed successful pilot trials with 1,000 slabs sent from Brazil and marked with RFID tags. Custom-made software applications based on RFID Anywhere were used to tag the slabs in Brazil and identify them at various points throughout their journey. Accenture recommended RFID Anywhere for ThyssenKrupp Steel's application based on its superior ability to manage a broad range of devices, including mobile and fixed RFID readers as well as RFID printers that are deployed at different locations around the world, and integrate these into existing IT systems.

BNP Paribas Securities Services is a subsidiary of the BNP Paribas Group and the leading European provider of securities services and investment operations solutions to the world's financial institutions. In a project called "Drag and Drop," the company uses Sybase's Adaptive Server Enterprise database, Replication Server software, Data Integration Suite, PowerDesigner tool and Sybase IQ technology to build a new data warehouse architecture where data is loaded into Sybase IQ from the ASE production database via a replication mechanism. This architecture meets the company's need for a more robust, high-performance platform to offer new services to its customers and to reach new customers. BNP Paribas is expecting more customers to choose its services thanks to the new value it offers through the innovative use of Sybase technologies.

Nearly 20,000 of Fidelity Investments' users benefit from the company's "Listener Project," which was designed to facilitate large volumes of concurrent users' access to Sybase ASE. Fidelity Investments' creative solution significantly reduces the server startup time, making ASE servers quickly available to the company's large number of users.

Simbex, LLC is a research and product development company whose core expertise is biomechanical feedback systems. The company's Head Impact Telemetry (HIT) System powered by SQL Anywhere(R) database seeks to improve sports safety through detecting and monitoring of potentially injurious head impacts. For example, a data collector in each football player's helmet receives impact data and wirelessly transmits it to the HIT system in a laptop on the sideline. The system sends a pager warning when its analysis signals a potential head injury. The collected data is stored in the SQL Anywhere in the laptop, and later synchronized and consolidated to Simbex's central database. SQL Anywhere was selected for its ease of use, mobile expertise, synchronization and data movement efficiency, compared with its competitors. The success of the HIT system has led to its deployment with other sports as well as the military.
