We know Italy is home to the sports car, but what about China? Considering the country is dominating the world’s economic market, it’s not surprising that Ferrari has – for the first time in history – offered a brand new Ferrari exhibition showroom outside of its birth state. This space in Shanghai will be the first time this luxury sports car brand has really dedicated itself to another space.
The Ferrari exhibition will debut inside Shanghai’s World Expo Park’s Italian Center and is expected to run for three years, showcasing the latest and greatest Ferrari sports cars ever created. The exhibition will be devised similar to the great Italian ones, with current and veteran Ferrari models, images, video and a great interactive quality for anyone that is a Ferrari enthusiast.
The new Chinese Ferrari exhibit will debut sometime in May, but isn’t the last time Ferrari will make its mark in the country. In addition to honoring China with its presence, Ferrari will also be creating a Chinese-only, limited-edition release of a 458 Italia. Both the super-luxe 458 Italia sports car and the 900 square metres exhibit honor the first purchase of a Ferrari in China 20 years ago.
Despite China’s rather youthful appreciation to the legendary sports car Ferrari, it isn’t the first time this grand country has welcomed a limited edition car. Several years ago Ferrari created a China-only Ferrari 599 GTB China Fiorano Limited Edition, which featured Chinese characters and Rosso Fuoco silver roof. The car sold for $1.77 million.
