Ferrari as a brand represents power and speed, however their legendary line-up is about to enter the progressive world of hybrid technology. The company announced they would reveal their most powerful car ever this January at the Detroit Annual Auto Show describing it as, “A new hybrid model, which will be produced in a limited-edition, special series.”
The most impressive part of the Ferrari will be its 900 horsepower rating that will make it as powerful and fast as any traditional engine supercar out there. The system, called a HY-KERS system will reduce CO2 and fuel consumption by fourty percent, ultimately achieving the standard results of an amazing supercar engine, with the environmental impact of a Prius.
Another component that is sure to guarantee this car will have great seep even though it is ‘green’ is the cars new carbon fiber chassis which is approximated to cut the car’s weight down by twenty percent.
Another feature worth noting is the car’s auxiliary electric motor which regenerates the system and reduces driveline drag while the batteries recharge.
Experts predict the Ferrari hybrid will hit the market early next year, and will be priced in competition with Ferrari’s typical supercar lineup.
