Steven Tyler - superstar front man of Aerosmith, and hit judge of ‘American Idol’ - has just forked over a million plus dollars to own the newest supercar on the road, the first ever Hennessy Venom GT Spyder. A stretched out version of the Lotus Exige, the highly-modified vehicle can accelerate from zero to 200 miles per hour in 15.9 seconds, beating out the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport model for the title of fastest street-legal production car on the road -- by a record-breaking eight seconds.

This speed comes from the supercar’s Chevrolet engine which produces 1, 244bhp from its 7.0 litre Hennessey-built twin-turbo V8.

Only five Venom GT’s will be available in the 2013 year, with only two left for purchase, and Tyler has the first and only Spyder edition. The story goes that Tyler approached Hennessy Performance and personally asked them if they could rebuild his Venom GT as a roadster. The task was not effortless, as the company had to reengineer the use of their integrated rollcage to work with a removable top, but their efforts resulted in the world’s supercar convertible to beat.

Up to date, Tyler’s is the only convertible option to ever be produced, and thus his personal vehicle is being referred to as as the ‘world’s fastest convertible’, and the ‘world’s most powerful roadster.’
