It’s one of a few luxury cars never driven by James Bond in a motion picture, but he may want to think about what he’s picking up the next Bond girl in after seeing the new Jaguar XJ series.
Features and power all depends on how much you’re willing to spend. If you’re happy with the minimum, the Jaguar XJ makes you happy, but if you’re willing to spend a little more money, then feel free to put the pedal of the Supersport models to the metal.
The Jaguar XJ series starts with the XJ and the XJL. Both come with 5.0 liter V8 engines and go from 0-60 in a little over five seconds. The XJ and XJL feature 19” alloy wheels – Aleutian for the XJ and Tobas on the XJL – and plenty of colors on the outside. If you choose the XJL, there are a couple more colors to choose from for your exterior and interior.
Inside, the new XJ series features Jaguar’s 600-watt premium sound system, hard disk drive and Media Hub which allows you to connect any generation iPod and many USB devices. A 3.5mm audio jack makes it easy to connect your iPod to the stereo easily so you can just plug it in and go.
A full color HD touch-screen with Navagation system helps you get where you’re going, and a 12” screen displays speed, rpm and distance.
GOT THE NEED FOR SPEED?
Driving will always be fun – unless you’re in traffic. If you’re lucky enough to be on the open road, you have to open up the valves. It’s almost necessary. You can do that with the XJ and XJL models, hit the gas with the Supercharged or Supersport models.
The Supercharged and Supersport models have the same features inside and outside in terms of color and comfort, but what makes the big brothers of the XJ and XJL special is what’s under the hood.
The Jaguar XJ and XJL Supercharged feature a 470 horsepower engine, and the Supersport models come with a 510 horses ready to gallop on the road.
Going from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds is great, but going from 0-60 in less than five seconds makes you feel even better.
No matter how fast you’re going, Jaguar’s Adaptive Dynamics system gives you the perfect balance whether you’re cruising at 15-20 mph or zooming at 115-120 mph.
All Jaguar XJ and XJL series cars come with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift™ which gives you three different gear shift modes.
The entire Jaguar XJ and XJL line will be available beginning this fall and have varying prices. The XJ starts at $72,500 and goes up to $115,000 for the SuperSport model.
