Sometimes, money isn’t an option if you see something you like. From cars to jets to mansions and everything in between, you have to spend the money if you see something that must be in your collection.
Exotic car collectors have that attitude, and the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, producers of the “World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions”, is happy to facilitate your need if putting a rare and expensive car in your garage.
On September 23-September 25, 2010, the auction company will host its 3-rd annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The auction will feature several collector’s items at no reserve.
One of the crown jewels of the auction is a 2008 Bugatti Veyron, which is the fastest production car around. With an incredible 1,001 horsepower engine with turbo chargers and a top speed of over 250 mph, the Veyron quenches the thirst for speed. Only 300 of these sleek, swift cars were ever made.
“Designed to outperform any car on the Autobahn and out style any vehicle in the parking lot, the Veyron is a prize that all car aficionados would like to have in their collection,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson.
Mercedes fans will want to bid on a sexy 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren convertible. There’s not much to hate about the pristine crystal grey exterior with a smooth red leather interior. It doesn’t pack the power of the Veyron, but a six-cylinder, 5.5 liter engine won’t make you feel like you’re dragging an anchor.
Of course, one of the most famous auto makers, Ferrari, will be well represented. A 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello with a 485-horsepower V12 engine will be up for auction by Barrett-Jackson. Not to be outdone is a 1999 Ferrari 355 F-1 Spyder which is perfect if you want to cruise around the beaches from Malibu to Monaco with the top down. Other Ferraris up for auction include a classic 1988 Ferrari Testarossa, a 1994 Ferrari 348 Spyder and a 2003 Ferrari 456 M GT.
Needless to say, this is a pretty impressive lineup if you have a nice wad of cash laying around in the exotic car fund.
“Barrett-Jackson creates a docket of amazing cars at every auction,” Craig Jackson, CEO of Barrett-Jackson said. “The Bugatti, McLaren and Ferraris represent a nice stable of vehicles for the serious enthusiast who wants to diversify his collection and still drive his car.”
The SPEED network will broadcast over 21 hours of live coverage of the auction. Thinking of becoming a bidder? Simply cruise over to Barrett-Jackson’s website, www.barrett-jackson.com/bid.
