She’s already been named one of the youngest artists to ever top the Billboard charts, but that isn’t where Blue Ivy Carter’s story ends. The newborn baby girl of R&B stars Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z has been capturing the world’s attention after the entertainment powerhouse couple took over New York’s Lenox Hill hospital last week, and will continue to occupy entertainment magazine headlines with her every move. This headline, however, isn’t about her moves – it’s about her nighttime ritual.
According to reports, Beyonce and Jay-Z not only purchased an entire floor of Lenox Hill Hospital to enjoy some privacy as they expected their first child together, but they also put down $3,500 for a Lucite designer crib. Their November purchase is sleek, structured and entirely sound – perfect for a child “from the child from Destiny’s Child” (a line hailed from Jay-Z’s new single ‘Glory’, which credits B.I.C.).
No surprise here – Nurseyworks was the culprit, supplying Beyonce, her mother Tina and sister Solange with the expensive accessory during a family shopping trip last year. The piece, according to the designer baby store, was “inspired by the love of acrylic furniture.” The see-through device might be practical in some instances, but price wise it’s not.
The Vetro crib is hardly the first expensive accessory the R&B team thought up when outfitting Blue Ivy Carter’s new baby room – her nursery is around 2,200 square feet and includes designer duds specifically made for the child, as well as a $7,000 Swarovski crystal bathtub.
