Poker can become a pretty expensive game. The high-end sport attracts a wealth of individuals, but only Exec Digital readers will truly enjoy the gem encrusted chip set from STAHL. The poker chips are priced at $150,000 but are notable for more than their diamond studded exterior.
Hailed “The Meteorite Set,” this is hardly your average set of chips. Inspired by the asteroid that flew down to earth 800,000 years ago (according to JamesList), the set contains a calibrated bit of some of the antiquated remains.
The poker set itself is worthy of alarm, as each individual chip is cased in 18 karat white gold and topped off with jewels like diamonds, Burmese rubies and Sri Lankan sapphires. The chips aren’t the only luxurious attraction, as Stahl also included an original leather briefcase to hold the more than $100,000 in chips is slathered in Swedish calf skin and reindeer calf suede inside. Every metal detail simulates the chips it holds, with 18 carat white gold on the side, inside the briefcase and a piece of the Muonionalusta meteorite.
The Stahl diamond chips have yet to be officially priced, but with the 120 game chips for a brilliant shimmery poker game, five ivory die and player cards, Christie’s is auctioning off the item November 29.
