Kanye West -- the world’s most stylish rapper, and Nike – the world’s most successful brand – are finally due to release the ‘ancient luxury’ inspired trainers ala "Game of Thrones." The Air Yeezy 2s are the second edition designed by Kanye for the megabrand, and this version of the kicks is without a doubt far funkier, fresher and all around more blingified than the wildly successful Air Yeezy.

Pulling from his genius as a Louis Vuitton Sneaker designer – his trainers sold for 1,000 dollars a pair – Kanye detailed the Yeezy ii with stylish accents reminiscent of ancient kingdom wealth.
Nike’s description of the Air Yeezy 2s is: "An obsessive approach to materials results in a luxurious mix of leather, rugged ballistic nylon, and soft nubuck. Concealed but opulent details reference ancient civilizations, including a loop strap with hieroglyphics that spell out 'YZY.' Each screw on lace aglet is obelisk shaped, and the anaconda texture is echoed on the eyelets and leather lace toggle that carries the Roman numeral 'II.'

Kanye’s fellow rap-royalty pal Jay Z was one of the first celebs spotted wearing the shoes. At a recent music festival announcement Jay paired the classy kicks with a tailored suit jacket, and sheen jeans. Such a combination shows class, wealth, and power, but with a laid-back, approachable street attitude.

The first edition was so successful, Kanye even auctioned off a pair of the shoes for 16,500 USD, making the Air Yeezys the most expensive shoes of all time. Kanye's design skills have only improved over the years - he recently designed a well reviewed woman's clothing line - and so the air yeezy air yeezy edition (that is Air Yeezy 2 codified for the street) should witness similar success on the elite collector's market.
Nike is set to release a limited number of the year’s hottest sneakers June ninth, at select global retailers. Find out more information on how to purchase the trainers at the Yeezy ii’s website at Nike.com.
