Even if you’re a steadfast PC guy, you can’t argue that the MacBook Air is one sexy notebook. It seems like Samsung noticed this too, and is taking the MacBook Air on at full speed with the Samsung Notebook 9 Series laptop.
Samsung formally introduced the Samsung Notebook 9 Series in South Korea this morning. The 13-inch PC notebook threatens to beat out the MacBook Air in every way – the Samsung notebook’s 2.89 lb and .64-inch frame make the MacBook Air’s 2.9 lbs and .68 inches seem leaden in comparison. Even the sleek black metal exterior of the Samsung notebook is an upgrade from the MacBook Air notebook’s ubiquitous silver.

The Samsung Series 9 notebook doesn’t slack on the interior, either. This Samsung notebook promises an integrated second-generation Intel CoreTM i5 processor, and Intel HD graphics supported by a 13.3-inch LED-backlit screen. PC notebook users on the go will appreciate a 6.5-hour battery life, as well as the Samsung notebook’s dedication to connectivity with USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0, built-in WiMax and upgraded WiFi capabilities.

But Samsung hasn’t stopped there. While the 13-inch Samsung 9 Series notebook is launching this month, Samsung also announced today that an 11-inch notebook would be released in March. The 11-inch Samsung notebook promises to bridge the gap for Samsung customers who want the portability of their Samsung Galaxy tablet without sacrificing the user-friendliness of a PC notebook.
If you’re eager for the 13-inch Samsung 9 Series notebook, you’re in luck – it should be available for $1,600 before the month is up. But even with the 13-inch at the ready, we’re excited to see what the 11-inch Samsung notebook has in store.
