We’ve all seen the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx commercials – I have to say I’m impressed. As a former Droid owner (who conveniently switched over to an iPhone, I might add), Droid was in serious need of repair. Not only did the Motorola device crawl when any social media was added, but the battery life was dismal – forcing daily mid-afternoon charging sessions.

Enough was enough. The Motorola Droid team “beefed” up the battery, claims a new CNET review, to create a longer-lasting Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. The slimmer version of the original Droid Razr is now 4.3 inches of Super AMOLED Advanced display, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, featuring the Verizon 4G speed.

The Droid market has much to catch-up on if it wants to be a legitimate Smartphone contender, even with the new Ice Cream Sandwich. And while the size fits the market appeal (though it can’t claim it’s the thinnest in the market, but why would it bother?), the Droid Razr Maxx has this going – it’s elongated battery life. Everyone knows the world is addicted to their Smartphone, but hardly a fan of its stunted life – could this be the answer?

Despite the appeal of addicted Smartphone users, the Droid Razr Maxx needed far more improvements than simply an updated battery – which is really all it is.
